QUAKER® OLD FASHIONED STANDARD GRITS

Savor the tender, creamy flavor of Quaker Grits, the old-fashioned way. They taste great—and they're also low in fat and contain no cholesterol—making them a great nutritious breakfast option or as a smooth side dish for any meal.
Stove Top Preparation
To Make 1 Serving:
- 1/4 Cup Grits
- 1 Cup Water or Milk
- Dash of salt (optional; for low sodium diets, omit salt)
To Make 4 Servings:
- 1 Cup Grits
- 4 Cups Water
- 1/4 Tsp Salt (optional)
To Make 6 Servings:
- 1-1/2 Cups Grits
- 6 Cups Water
- 1/2 Tsp Salt (optional)
Directions:
- Slowly stir grits and salt into briskly boiling water.
- Reduce heat to low; cover. Cook 15 to 20 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
Microwave Preparation (1 Serving)
- 1/4 Cup Grits
- 1 Cup Water or Milk
- Dash of salt (optional)
Directions:
- Combine water, grits and salt in 2 cup microwave-safe bowl; stir.
- Microwave on MEDIUM (50% power) 7 to 10 minutes or until thickened when stirred.
Microwave ovens vary in power, cooking times may need to be adjusted.
TIP: For thicker grits decrease water; for thinner grits increase water.
